| 설명 | 거미막밑공간과 뇌실을 채우고 있으면서 뇌와 척수를 쌓고 있는 맑은 액체를 뇌척수액이라 한다. 거미막밑공간이란 3개의 층(밖에서 부터 경질막, 거미막, 유막)으로 이루어진 뇌막 중에서 2번째 층에 해당하는 거미막의 아래의 공간으로 가장 밑에 있는 뇌막인 유막의 위에 존재하는 공간이다. 뇌실이란 뇌속에 존재하는 공간으로 그 속에는 뇌실액으로 채워져 있다. 뇌와 척수는 고체이고 이것들을 둘러쌓는 뇌척수액은 액체이므로 뇌, 척수는 뇌척수액속에 떠있는 결과가 된다. 이는 외부의 충격으로부터 뇌와 척수를 보호하는데 유용하다.  |

| antral sphincter | Angular sphincter, thickening of the circular muscular layer forming a proposed intermediate sphincter at the level of the angular notch of the stomach.
