| 설명 | 몸의 어느 한쪽이 마비된 상태. 얼굴의 반쪽과 같은 쪽 팔-다리 모두에 운동마비가 일어난 상태를 말한다. 반신마비 또는 편마비라고도 한다. 수의운동을 지배하는 피라밋로가 대뇌의 겉질-겉질하, 속섬유막, 뇌줄기의 어느 부위에서건 장애를 받아도 일어난다. 마비는 숨뇌와 척수의 경계부에서 척수로가 대부분 교차되므로 장애 쪽과는 반대쪽에서 일어난다. 급성으로 발생한 뇌 속의 순환장애, 특히 속섬유막 부근의 출혈-괴사 등에 의해 일어나는 경우가 많다. 원인으로서는 뇌출혈을 비롯하여 뇌연화-뇌종양-동맥염-당뇨병-요독증 등을 들 수 있다. |

| alternating light test | Test to detect a relative afferent defect in one eye by watching pupillary movements. With the patient fixing in the distance, the light is held on each eye for about a second, and quickly moved to the other eye. Assuming no defect of the innervation to the iris sphincter in one eye (which would produce an anisocoria in light), the eye with the weaker light response has a relative afferent pupillary defect. This asymmetry of pupillomotor input can be estimated by holding neutral density filters in front of the better eye until the pupillary responses of the two eyes are balanced. | nucleus of oculomotor nerve | The composite group of motor neurons innervating all of the external eye muscles except the musculus rectus lateralis and musculus obliquus superior, and including the musculus levator palpebrae superioris; the most rostral component of the nucleus is the Edinger-Westphal nucleus which innervates the musculi sphincter pupillae and ciliaris via the ciliary ganglion. The oculomotor nucleus lies in the rostral half of the midbrain, near the midline in the most ventral part of the central gray substance; fibres of the medial longitudinal fasciculus form its lateral borders.
