| 설명 | 신생아에서 적혈구가 비정상적으로 많이 파괴되는 병으로 태아적모구증(erythroblastosis fetalis)와 같은 뜻으로 쓰인다. 이것은 어머니에게서 생산된 신생아나 태아의 적혈구에 대한 항체가 태반을 건너와서 태아의 적혈구와 결합하여서 생기는 용혈성빈혈을 이르는 말. 즉 신생아나 태아의 적혈구의 항체가 어머니의 몸에서 생산이 되고 이것이 태반을 통해서 태아에게 넘어가서 태아의 적혈구와 결합을 하고 이 항체와 결합한 적혈구는 파괴가 되어서 빈혈이 생긴 것을 태아적모구증이라고 한다. 이것은 Rh 적모구증(Rh erythroblastosis)와 ABO 적모구증(ABO erythroblastosis)로 나눌 수가 있다. |

| 설명 | 용혈빈혈이란 적혈구의 과도한 파괴에 의한 빈혈이다. 원래 120일 정도의 수명을 가지는 적혈구의 수명이 짧아지는 것이다. 여기에는 여러 가지 원인이 있을 수가 있는데 대표적인 원인으로는 적혈구에 대한 항체가 생기는 것(발작성야간혈색소뇨증)과 적혈구자체의 이상(유전성둥근적혈구증), 그리고 다른 질병에 의해서 2차적으로 생기는 것이 있다. |

| 설명 | 건강한 사람에게서 채취한 혈액을, 혈액이나 그 성분이 부족한 환자의 혈관 내에 주입하는 치료 방법. 수혈은 빈혈 또는 각종 대량 실혈과 수술시 피할 수 없는 출혈에 반드시 필요한 구명처치로서 환자의 혈액형에 적합한 양질의 혈액이 요구된다. 수혈은 보통 전혈을 정맥 내에 주입하지만, 때로는 골수 내 또는 동맥 내에 수혈할 때도 있다. 수혈하는 혈액도 전혈이 아닌 액상 성분인 냉장 또는 냉동혈장을 사용할 수 있고, 적혈구나 백혈구-혈소판과 같은 세포성분을 원심분리하여 귀중한 혈액을 더 아끼고 더 효과적으로 쓰고 있다. 수혈의 효과는 순환혈액량을 보충하여 혈압을 유지하고, 부족한 각종 혈액성분을 공급 조정하며, 조혈기능을 자극하는 일 등을 들 수 있다. 긴급한 수혈의 대상은 교통사고 등 외상에 의한 대출혈과 위궤양-자궁외임신 등에 따르는 병적 출혈과 각종 혈액질환에 수반되는 빈혈과 백혈구 및 혈소판 감소, 그리고 혈우병 환자나 다른 환자에서 볼 수 있는 혈액응고인자 부족과 화상환자-간질환 등에서 부족해진 혈장 또는 알부민의 보충과 면역체가 부족하여 감염증이 생긴 환자에게 부족한 항체를 포함한 혈액 또는 혈장제제를 주는 것도 이에 속한다. |

| hemolytic anaemia | <disease, haematology> Anaemia resulting from reduced red cell survival time and haemolysis, either due to an intrinsic defect in the erythrocyte (hereditary spherocytosis or ellipsocytosis, enzyme defects, haemoglobinopathy) or an extrinsic damaging agent. | blood transfusion reaction | This refers to an immune response against transfused blood cells. Antigens, on the surface of red blood cells, are recognised as foreign proteins and can stimulate sensitised lymphocytes to produce antibodies to the red blood cell antigens. This triggers a complex immunological reaction that results in the destruction of the transfused red blood cell. The blood groups (A, B, AB, O) are classified on the basis of the presence of surface antigens on the red blood cell. Type A blood has A antigens. The plasma component of the blood contains the antibodies against all other blood group antigens other that its own. Another type of surface antigen is known as Rh factor. Rh factor is either present (Rh positive) or absent (Rh negative). Rh compatibility is another requirement for blood transfusion. Symptoms and findings of a transfusion reaction include flank pain, fever, chills, bloody urine, rash, low blood pressure, dizziness and fainting. (27 Sep 1997) |
| incompatible blood transfusion reaction | A syndrome due to intravascular haemolysis of transfused blood by serum antibodies of the recipient, which react with an antigen of the donor red cells; characterised by chills, fever (often with urticaria), backache or muscle cramps, haemoglobinaemia, haemoglobinuria, and oliguria, which may result in acute renal failure, DIC, and death.
