a low-molecular-weight heparin obtained by depolymerization of heparin from porcine intestinal mucosa using an enzyme from Flavobacterium heparinum; it acts as an anticoagulant and antithrombotic and is used as an adjunct to warfarin sodium in the treatment of deep venous thrombosis with or without pulmonary embolism, administered subcutaneously.
