| 설명 | 발육중의 배아 혹은 태아에 신체적 결함을 야기시키는 인자 또는 물질. 즉, 생체에 섭취, 또는 흡수되어 태아의 기형을 초래하는 물질을 말한다. 임신 초기에 수면제인 탈리도미드를 복용한 결과, 바다표범발증이 많이 발생하여 의약품의 투여에 의한 기형아의 발생이 세계적인 문제가 되었다. 의약품에서는 탈리도미드 외에 항갑상샘제-요오드화합물-남성호르몬 작용을 지닌 호르몬(게스타겐-에티닐테스토스테론-디메틸에티스테론 등), 합성 에스트로겐(디에틸스틸베스트롤-헥세스트롤 등), 항암제-퀴닌-페니토인(항간질제) 등을 들 수 있다. 기형유발성의 의심이 가는 약물에는 아스피린 외에 클로르프로마진 등의 페노티아진계 향정신성 의약품, 이미프라민을 비롯한 탄산리튬-부신겉질호르몬-경구 당뇨병약-스트렙토마이신, 홍역백신 등이 있으며, 동물실험에서 태아독성이나 기형유발성이 보고된 경우도 적지 않다. 이 밖에 비타민 A의 과잉 또는 부족, 풍진바이러스 등도 기형유발성이 있다는 사실이 밝혀지고 있다. |
