T1 | In magnetic resonance, the time for 63% of longitudinal relaxation to occur; the value is a function of magnetic field strength and the chemical environment of the hydrogen nucleus; for protons in fat and in water, in a 1.5T magnet, about 250 msec and 3000 msec respectively. A T1-weighted image will have a bright fat signal. (05 Mar 2000) |

T1 |
a specification for a transmission line. The specification details the input and output characteristics and the bandwidth. T1 lines run at 1.544 Mbps and provide for 24 data channels. In common usage, the term "T1" is used interchangeably with "DS1."

T1 |
A high-speed communications line, sometimes called T-1 carrier, originally developed to carry multiple conversations over standard twisted-pair telephone wiring. Currently, T1 provides digital communications and Internet access at the rate of 1.54 Mbps. T1 speed is attained through multiplexing 24 separate 64 kbps channels into a single data stream.

T1 relaxation t. |
a component of relaxation time representing the time required for longitudinal magnetization of a substance to return to equilibrium with its surroundings after administration of a pulse of radiofrequency energy; different substances have different times that are measured in magnetic resonance imaging. Called also longitudinal relaxation t., spin-lattice relaxation t., and thermal relaxation t.
