| 설명 | 분석역학에서의 요인-대조연구의 한 기법이다. 사람의 집단에서 질병유행과 가설요인과의 연관성을 고찰하여 인과관계를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 가설요인을 갖는 집단과 갖지 않는 집단, 혹은 적은 집단과 많은 집단의 2군(코호트)으로 나누어 추적 조사하여 각 집단에서의 질병의 발생빈도를 비교하는 것이다. 일반적으로는 전향적인 연구로 행해지는 경우가 많으나 후향적인 연구로도 행하여진다. |

| 설명 | 식도와 작은창자 사이의 소화기관으로서 들문, 바닥, 몸통, 날문방, 날문의 부분으로 구성된다. 내부에는 점막 주름이 있다. 주머니 모양으로 긴쪽의 모퉁이를 큰굽이, 짧은쪽의 모퉁이를 작은굽이라 부른다. 위에 있는 위샘은 염산을 분비하는 벽세포, 점액을 분비하는 점액목세포, 펩신을 분비하는 주세포 등으로 구성된다. 기능은 기계적인 소화작용 및 위산이 분비되어 살균작용을 하고 펩신이 분비되어 단백질을 분해한다.  |

| delayed gastric emptying | <gastroenterology> A condition where there is delayed stomach emptying (due abnormal gastric motility), often see as a complication of diabetes mellitus. Risk factors include diabetes, systemic sclerosis, previous vagotomy, previous gastrectomy, viceral neuropathy and the use of anticholinergic medications. Symptoms include bloating, nausea, vomiting and constipation. Treatment include dietary modification and the use of cholinergic medications and metachlopromide. (27 Sep 1997) |

| case-control study | <epidemiology> A study in which the risk factors of people with a disease are compared with those without a disease. It is an epidemiological method that begins by identifying persons with the disease or condition of interest (the cases) and compares their past history of exposure to identified or suspected risk factors with the past history of similar exposures among persons who resemble the cases but do not have the disease or condition of interest (the controls). The relationship of an attribute to the disease can therefore be examined by comparing affected and non-affected individuals with regard to the frequency or levels of the attribute in each group. | crossover study | <statistics> A study that compares two or more treatments or interventions in which the subjects or patients, upon completion of the course of one treatment, are switched to another. Usually refers to a study in which the subject is switched from the experimental to the control procedure (or vice versa). In the case of two treatments, a and b, half the subjects are randomly allocated to receive these in the order a, b and half to receive them in the order b, a. A criticism of this design is that effects of the first treatment may carry over into the period when the second is given. With this type of study, every patient serves as his or her own control.
