a patchy melanoderma manifested as a light to dark brown pigmentation, which is most intense on the forehead, on the malar regions, behind the ears, on the sides of the neck, and on other sun-exposed areas. It is seen most often in women and may involve an inflammatory photosensitivity, perhaps phototoxic, reaction.
