| 설명 | 슈도모나스과 그람 염색 음성의 무산소 막대균. 1882년 게사드가 청색 고름에서 분리했다. 길이 1μ, 너비 0.3~0.5μ이며, 대단히 활발하게 운동한다. 이 속의 대표 균종이며, 사람에게 병원성을 가진 유일한 균종으로, 청녹색의 색소인 pyocyanin을 생산하여 고름증에서 볼 수 있는 ‘녹색고름’의 원인이 된다. 병원감염의 중요한 균종으로 심내막염, 폐렴, 수막염 등 여러 가지 사람의 질병의 원인이 되며, 또 더운날귀(hot weather ear)이라고 알려져 있는 형의 귀염을 일으킨다. 옛명칭은 P. pyocyanea, Bacillus pyocyaneus, Bacterium aeruginosa이다. |

Several species produce characteristic water soluble fluorescent pigments. They are found in soil and water. Pseudomonas syringae is a plant pathogen causing leaf spot and wilt. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, normally a soil bacterium, is an opportunistic pathogen of humans who are immunocompromised.
