| 설명 | 부신수질에 발생한 종양. 세포의 모양이 어두운 색깔로 염색된다. 종양에 의해 부신수질에서 분비되는 노르에피네프린과 에피네프린의 증가가 나타난다. 따라서 지나친 부신수질호르몬의 증가에 따른 고혈압, 두근거림, 심한 두통, 발한, 얼굴의 붉어짐, 근육경련 등이 증상으로 나타난다. 치료는 수술로써 종양을 제거하는 것이다. |

| pheochromocytoma | <oncology, tumour> A tumour of the adrenal gland which produces catecholamines (noradrenaline and adrenaline). Although the tumour is usually benign it produces hypertension, pounding headaches, tachycardia, palpitations, apprehension, facial flushing, nausea and vomiting.
