| 설명 | 부갑상샘 호르몬의 분비가 많아져 있는 상태를 말한다. 부갑상샘 호르몬은 혈중에 칼슘의 농도를 높이는 역할을 한다. 즉 뼈속에 들어있는 칼슘을 분해하여 혈중으로 내보내고 콩팥에 작용을 하여서 오줌으로 체외로 배설되는 칼슘의 재흡수를 촉진시키고 소화관에서 칼슘의 흡수를 촉진시킨다. 주로 부갑상선의 암에 의하여 많은 부갑상선 호르몬이 생성되는 것이 주 원인이고, 암의 생성없이 부갑상샘 호르몬을 과생산하는 경우도 있다. 때로는 다른 암들이 이 부갑상샘호르몬을 분비하여서 부갑상샘기능항진증을 일으키기도 한다. 증상은 위창자증세(구역질, 구토, 변비, 식욕부진), 중추신경증세(무관심, 우울, 기억력감퇴, 의식 혼동), 신경 근육증세(피로, 근력저하) 등이 나타나고 검사소견은 혈청 칼슘이 상승되어 있고(>12mg/dL), 혈청 인은 감소(<3mg/dL)되어 있다. 콩팥, 인대 및 연골 등 연부조직의 칼슘침착을 일으킨다. 치료는 부갑상샘종이 있으면 외과적으로 떼어내고, 부갑상샘과다형성에 대해서는 부분절제를 한다. |

| hyperparathyroidism | The over production of parathormone by the parathyroid glands. Usually secondary to an adenoma (an unregulated glandular tumour that produces parathormone in an increased quantity). Laboratory studies show an elevated calcium in the blood. most patients are without symptoms. Symptoms in more advanced cases include lethargy, confusion, nausea, bone pain and weakness.
