| Nezelof s. |
any of a heterogeneous group of immunodeficiency disorders characterized by profoundly deficient cellular immunity and varying degrees of humoral immunodeficiency. Immunoglobulin levels may be normal or increased, but antibody response to immunization may be absent. Patients are highly susceptible to life-threatening infections with low-grade or opportunistic pathogens, such as Candida albicans, Pneumocystis carinii, and cytomegalovirus. Both autosomal recessive and X-linked inheritance have been described. Called also cellular immunodeficiency with immunoglobulins.
