People are more susceptible if they are taking medications which prevent normal blood clotting (coumadin, warfarin, aspirin, or any anti-inflammatory medication). Other predisposing factors include infection, trauma, allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, hypertension., alcohol abuse and inherited bleeding problems.
