| 설명 | 태아에게서 나오는 초록색의 변을 말함. 대개 모체의 뱃속에 있는 태아는 변을 보지 않으나, 정상적으로도 조금의 변이 나올 수 있다. 원래 모체의 뱃속에 있는 태아의 위치는 대부분 머리가 아래로 하여 있으나, 일부에서는 다리가 아래로 하여 있을 수 있으며, 그런 경우를 둔위라 한다. 정상적으로 머리가 아래인 위치에서 태변이 나오면, 태아에 이상이 있음을 말하는 경우가 많으나, 둔위의 경우에서는 태아가 정상인데도 태변이 나올 수 있다. 모체에서 태어난 신생아의 경우 대개 첫 24시간에는 태변이 나오며, 그 이후에는 노란(일반인들과 같은)변이 나오게 된다. |

| 설명 | 음식물의 찌꺼기같은 이물이 기도에 들어가 이차적으로 생기는 폐렴. 음식물이나 입안의 미생물이 식도로 넘어가지 않고 기도로 잘못 흡인되어 야기되는 폐렴을 말한다. 흡인 물질의 특성에 따라서 세 가지 증후군을 포함한다. ① 화학적 폐렴은 직접적으로 폐에 유해한 물질을 흡인했을 때 일어나며, 급성 호흡곤란, 빠른 호흡, 빠른맥이 나타나고 동반되는 증상은 주로 청색증, 기관지 경련, 열 등이다. ② 하기도의 세균성 감염이 흡인성 폐렴의 가장 흔한 형태로, 기침, 발열, 고름가래 증상을 나타낸다. ③ 하기도의 기계적 폐쇄는 특별한 물질, 특히 땅콩, 작은 고기덩어리에 의해 흡인되었을 때 일어나며, 흡인 물질과 기도의 직경에 따라 증상은 다르다. 기관에서 막히면 종종 호흡곤란과 함께 사망에 이르기도 하며, 하기도 아래 부분에서 흡인이 일어나면 만성 기침이 발생한다. |
