| 설명 | 일종의 확성장치로서 난청을 보충하기 위해 귀에 장착하는 기구. 옛날에는 나팔형의 집음기였던 것이 지금은 보통 음의 증폭을 돕는 전기보청기가 쓰인다. 꼭지에 장착하는 뼈전도도 있으나 대개는 공기전식으로 된 것이 많다. 즉, 음파를 마이크로폰으로 받아 전기진동으로 바꾸어 이것을 증폭기로 확대하여 이어폰으로 다시 음파로 만들어 귀에 들리게 한다. 난청 가운데서도 전음성 난청에는 효과가 있으나, 신경계 기능저하가 원인인 속귀와 관련된 감음성 난청에는 별로 효과를 기대할 수 없다. 보청기의 사용한계는 잘 들리는 쪽 귀의 평균청력손실 30dB(정상청력의 1/30)을 기준으로 하여 이보다 경도일 때는 필요가 없고 그 이상의 장애가 있을 때 적용된다. 보청기는 트랜지스터에서 IC 회로로 전자기술의 진전과 함께 개량되어 감도도 좋을뿐더러 아주 작아지고, 증폭장치부를 여러 형태로 만든 것이 판매되고 있다. 예를 들면, 안경테에 세트되어 있는 안경형, 귀에 걸게 되어 있는 귀뒤형, 여자의 머리핀 형이나 넥타이핀 형, 포켓형 등이 있다. |

| micropore filter | A filter made of a meshwork of cellulose acetate or nitrate and with defined pore size. They can be autoclaved and the smaller pore sizes (0.22m,0.45m) are used for sterilising heat labile materials by filtering out micro organisms.
