| 설명 | 동물의 조직, 침, 눈물, 알의 흰자 따위에 들어있는 항균효소의 하나. 세균의 세포벽에 들어 있는 점액다당류 따위를 가수분해함으로써 세균의 감염을 막는 역할을 한다. 식염수에는 녹으나 아세톤, 알코올 따위에서는 침전한다. 1922년 영국의 A. 플레밍이 발견했으며, 그가 분리한 미크로코쿠스 라이소데익틱스(Micrococcus lysodeiktics)라는 세균이 특히 급속히 융해되므로 이것을 리소자임이라 명명했다. 이 효소에는 세균성 질환에 대한 치료효과는 없다. 이와 관련하여 플레밍은 7년 후에 세포벽의 합성저해로 항균성을 나타내는 항생물질 페니실린을 발견했다. 그람양성균 및 일부 그람음성균(대장균, 살모넬라균)의 세포벽을 분해하는 효소로, 뮤라미다아제라고도 한다. 분자량 15,000의 염기성 단백질, 난백, 식물라텍스에 많다. 지라, 콧물, 눈물, 침, 위액, 젖, 조직액 등에 들어 있다. 특히 침의 항균물질로서 중요하다. |
