An Inhaler or metered dose inhaler (MDI) is a device used to deliver specialized allergy and asthma medications to the tissues of the lungs. It is called a "metered dose" inhaler because it is designed to deliver a specific dose of medication with each usage. It is a small L-shaped device, which the user puts into their mouth in order to pull the medication directly into the lungs on breathing in.
