International Commission on Radiological Protection, a self-appointed, self-perpetuating organisation originally set up in 1928 by the nuclear industry, still funded by it and accountable to no-body else. Their recommendations have the status of "advice" but they are so deeply entrenched in the culture of radiation protection that they inform standards everywhere. ICRP is a charity registered in the UK, a status which seems to go unchallenged despite their obvious pro-nuclear bias. ...
