| 설명 | 태반세포에서 만들어지는 호르몬. 기능은 임신의 초기에 황체(원래 난자를 싸고 있던 세포들이 배란이 일어나서 난자가 빠져나간 후 주머니 모양을 이룬 것. 임신초기에 임신의 유지에 필요한 호르몬을 생성한다)의 유지에 기여하고, 태아의 고환조직에서 남성호르몬이 분비되는 것을 촉진시킨다. 또 이것은 임신초기의 임산부의 소변에서 많은 양이 검출되므로 이것을 이용해서 임신의 여부를 손쉽게 조사할 수가 있다. |

| 설명 | 1.물에 녹을 수 있고 녹은 후에 열을 가하면 변성을 일으키는 모든 단백질의 총칭. 2.혈청 알부민의 의미로 쓰인다. 혈청이란 피를 뽑아 방치했을 경우에 혈액응고가 되고 난 뒤에 남아있는 맑은 액을 말하는 데 이곳에 녹아있는 사람의 단백질을 혈청 단백질이라고 하고 이 혈청단백질의 대부분(60%)을 차지하는 것이 알부민이다. 이 알부민의 기능은 우선 혈액속에 있는 여러 가지 호르몬 등의 물질과 결합하여 그 물질의 분해를 막고 다른 곳으로 이동시키는 역할과 혈액의 삼투압을 유지하는 일을 한다. |
