Studied under Duverney in Paris and became Professor of Anatomy at Heidelberg (1687) and Strasburg. Brunner's Glands - glandulae duodenales. Descriptio de glandulis in duodeno intestino detectis. Heidelberg. 1687. Also: Physiologica de glandulis duodeni cogitata. Heidelberg. 1687. The duodenal glands had previously been described by Brunner's father-in-law, J.J.
