| 설명 | 할로겐화 흡입마취약의 하나로 휘발성 전신마취약. 무색투명한 액체로 클로로포름과 같은 냄새가 있으며, 마취력은 에테르의 네배, 클로로포름의 두 배이다. 인화성은 없으며, 실온에서 안정하지만 빛에 의해 산과 포스겐으로 분해되기 때문에 갈색 병에 보존한다. 심장근의 수축력억제, 심박출량-심박수의 감소, 말초저항의 저하로 인해 혈압은 하강한다. 심장근 전도계의 카테콜아민 감수성 항진에 의해 부정맥이 발생하기 쉽고, 에피네프린의 병용에 주의해야 한다. 호흡억제 작용이 있다. 기도 자극성은 없고 기관지확장작용이 강하다. 할로탄처럼 빨리 작용하는 마취제는 간 괴사를 일으킬 수 있다. 괴사는 광범위하면 치명적이지만, 대개는 중심소엽성 간손상을 일으키며 스스로 치유된다. |

| halothane | <chemical> A nonflammable, halogenated, hydrocarbon anaesthetic that provides relatively rapid induction with little or no excitement. Analgesia may not be adequate. Nitrous oxide is often given concomitantly. Because halothane may not produce sufficient muscle relaxation, supplemental neuromuscular blocking agents may be required.
