| 영문 | pupil | 한글 | 동공 |
|---|---|---|---|

||

| Gunn's crossing sign | <clinical sign> Retinal arteriovenous crossing with venous compression in hypertensive disease. (05 Mar 2000) |
|---|---|
| Gunn's dots | Minute, highly glistening, white or yellowish specks usually seen in the posterior part of the fundus; nonpathologic. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Marcus Gunn pupil | Relative afferent pupillary defect. Synonym: Gunn pupil. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Gunn pupil | Relative afferent pupillary defect. Synonym: Gunn pupil. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Marcus Gunn's sign | <clinical sign> Compression of the underlying vein at arteriovenous crossings seen ophthalmoscopically in arteriolar sclerosis, on alternate stimulation with light, the pupil of an eye with optic nerve transmission defect constricts poorly or even dilates when stimulated (a relative afferent pupillary defect). Synonym: Marcus Gunn's sign. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Gunn's sign | <clinical sign> Compression of the underlying vein at arteriovenous crossings seen ophthalmoscopically in arteriolar sclerosis, on alternate stimulation with light, the pupil of an eye with optic nerve transmission defect constricts poorly or even dilates when stimulated (a relative afferent pupillary defect). Synonym: Marcus Gunn's sign. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Maurer's dots | Finely granular precipitates or irregular cytoplasmic particles that usually occur diffusely in red blood cells infected with the trophozoites of Plasmodium falciparum, occasionally those of P. Malariae; rarely observed in P. Falciparum blood smears because its trophozoites seldom are seen in peripheral blood. Synonym: Maurer's clefts. (05 Mar 2000) |
| crossing over | <genetics, molecular biology> The breaking during meiosis of one maternal and one paternal chromosome, the reciprocal exchange of corresponding sections of DNA along pairs of homologous chromosomes by symmetrical breakage and crosswise rejoining of the chromosomes. This results in the transfer of a block of genes from each chromosome to its homologue. In contrast to genetic recombination, which is a phenotypic phenomenon, crossing-over is genotypic. Any even number of crossing-overs between two loci will cancel out phenotypically and no recombination will occur. Recombination can result from DNA exchange of alleles between between homologous chromatids in meiosis, giving rise to chiasmata. Compare: recombination. (10 Nov 1998) |
| Schuffner's dots | Fine, round, uniform red or red-yellow dot's (as coloured with Romanovsky stains) characteristically observed in erythrocytes infected with Plasmodium vivax and P. Ovale, but not ordinarily found in P. Malariae and P. Falciparum infections. Synonym: Schuffner's granules. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Horner-Trantas dots | Evanescent white cellular infiltrates occurring in the bulbar form of vernal keratoconjunctivitis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| somatic crossing-over | Crossing-over that occurs during the mitosis of somatic cells, in contrast to that which occurs in meiosis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Trantas' dots | Pale, grayish red, uneven nodules of gelatinous aspect at the limbal conjunctiva in vernal conjunctivitis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| unequal crossing over | <cell biology> Crossing over between homologous chromosomes that are not precisely paired, resulting in nonreciprocal exchange of material and chromosomes of unequal length. Favoured in regions containing tandemly repeated sequences. (18 Nov 1997) |
| uneven crossing-over | Unequal crossing-over, crossing-over that happens when the breaks do not occur at precisely homologous points in two chromatid strands, and hence results in localised duplication of genetic material in one chromatid and complementary deletion in the other. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Ziemann's dots | Fine dot's seen in erythrocytes in malariae malaria. Synonym: Ziemann's stippling. (05 Mar 2000) |
