| 설명 | 조충과의 1속. 다절아강원엽목에 속하는 편형동물의 한 무리. 가축 등에 기생하는 3~6mm인 조충이다. 단포조충과 다포조충의 2종이 있다. 단포조충은 세계 각지, 특히 목양-목우가 성한 지방에서 볼 수 있다. 소-양-산양이 중간숙주이며, 개-늑대가 최종숙주이다. 다포조충은 알래스카 등 한랭지에 주로 분포한다. 쥐-다람쥐가 중간숙주이고, 여우-개가 최종숙주이다. 사람은 중간숙주가 된다. 최종숙주가 이들 포충이 기생하는 장기를 먹으면 감염된다. 사람의 포충증은 포충의 기생장소에 따라 다르지만, 그 주위를 결합직성의 피막이 둘러싸고 건강한 주변 조직과 격리되어 있으므로 몇 년 또는 십수 년 후에 비정상으로 커져서 인접 조직을 압박하게 된다. 포충이 뇌에 기생하면 중독 증세를 나타내며, 폐포충증에서는 각혈, 간포충증에서는 간비대나 황달 등이 된다. 포충이 골조직을 침범하면 흔히 골절을 일으킨다. 사람은 감염된 개와 접촉, 오염수를 마시면 감염된다. |

| echinococcus | <dermatology, microbiology> A tissue infection by the larval stage of the Echinococcus granulosus worm. This disease is common in South America, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Sporadic cases have been reported in the us. Infection occurs after ingestion of eggs in infected dog faeces. The infection is carried to the liver where cysts form. Cysts may also form in the lungs, bone, brain, kidney, muscles and spleen. Symptoms include abdominal pain, itching, cough, haemoptysis, chest pain and fever.
