the sodium salt of the dextrorotatory isomer of thyroxine; it acts as an antihyperlipidemic and has only weak thyroid hormone activity. It has been used as an adjunct in the treatment of familial hyperlipoproteinemia type IIa in euthyroid patients; administered orally.
