| 설명 | 가루나 결정성 약을 뭉쳐서 눌러 둥글넓적한 원판이나 원추 모양으로 만든 약제. 젖당, 초콜릿, 아라비아고무 따위를 섞어 만든다. 예전부터 가정약품으로서 많이 사용되어온 약제형태이다. 정제는 압축 형성한 것이지만 환제는 압축형성하지 않은 것이다. 통상적으로 한 알의 중량은 약 0.1g이다. 나쁜 맛이나 나쁜 냄새의 약품을 복용하기 쉽게 하고 휴대하기 편리하게 하는 장점이 있다. 결점은 일반적으로 붕괴속도가 늦기 때문에 즉효성은 기대할 수 없으며 수분을 포함하기 때문에 곰팡이가 나거나 변질되기 쉬운 점등이다. |

| acceptable daily intake | <pharmacology> This is an estimate of the amount of a substance in food that can be ingested daily over a lifetime by humans without appreciable health risk. The concept of the acceptable daily intake has been developed principally by who and FAO and is relevant to chemicals such as additives to foods, residues of pesticides and veterinary drugs in foods. Acceptable daily intakes are derived from laboratory toxicity data, and from human experiences of such chemicals when this is available, and incorporate a safety factor.
