a complex of symptoms including partial deafness, stuffiness in the ears, tinnitus, clicking or snapping of the temporomandibular joint, dizziness, headache, and burning pain in the ear, throat, tongue, and nose. Causes proposed include mandibular overclosure, lesions of the temporomandibular joint, and stress. Some researchers question the anatomical and physiological justification for considering this a separate diagnostic entity. Called also temporomandibular dysfunction s.
