| 설명 | 체내에 널리 분포하며, 장기, 조직사이를 메우고 그것을 기계적으로 지지, 조직이다. 그밖에 혈관, 림프관, 신경을 인도하며 영양, 대사산물의 수송 또는 저류, 나아가서는 손상, 감염에 대한 방어 또는 수복 등에도 작용한다. 결합조직은 세포간질이 풍부하며, 세포간질을 구성하는 기질과 섬유의 성상에 따라 간엽조직, 섬유성 결합조직(성긴섬유성 결합조직, 촘촘한 섬유성 결합조직), 지방조직, 탄성조직, 세망 조직 등으로 분류된다. |

| 설명 | 갈비뼈에 의해서 싸여진 목과 가로막 사이의 신체부분. 가슴속을 바구니처럼 싸고 있다. 뒤 정중선에 12개의 등뼈가 늘어서고, 이것과 관절을 이루어 바깥쪽으로 굽어 전하방을 향하는 12쌍의 갈비뼈와 그 갈비뼈 위쪽의 7쌍과 갈비연골로 연결되는 앞벽 중앙의 복장뼈로 이루어진다. 제8~10갈비연골은 바로 위쪽의 갈비연골과 연결되어 복장뼈와 결합하는데, 제11과 제12갈비뼈는 짧아서 유리되어 있다. 성인의 가슴은 아래쪽이 다소좁고, 전체는 좌우로 넓고 전후로 좁은 형태를 하고 있으며, 좌우지름을 1이라고 하면 전후지름은 0.6~0.7이다. |

| 설명 | 입속의 천장을 구성하며 동시에 콧구멍의 바닥을 이루는 구조물을 입천장이라 한다. 입천장은 크게 2가지로 나뉘어져 앞쪽의 뼈로 이루어진 부분을 단단입천장(hard palate)라 하고, 뒷부분의 근육성 주름을 물렁입천장(soft palate)라 한다. 주된 구조물은 건막과 근육 그리고 림프 조직이며 한가운데에는 목젖(uvula)이라고 하는 돌기가 존재한다. 목젖의 옆으로는 두개의 주름 즉 입천장혀활(palatoglossal arch)과 입천장인두궁(palatopharyngeal arch)이 존재하며 이 두 주름사이에 입천장편도(palatine tonsil)가 있다. 연구개의 기능은 음식을 삼킬 때 그 뒷끝이 인두의 뒷벽에 닿음으로써 음식물이 코로 역류하지 못하게 한다. |

| 설명 | 자궁이란 태아가 수태되어서 분만전까지 발육하고 성장하는 공간이다. 자궁속에 병변이 있어 임신이 계속될 수 없거나 아니면 다른 이유로 임신되어 있는 태아를 제거하고자 할 경우에 사용되는 방법이다. 여기서 긁어내기 위하여는 우선 자궁의 입구에 해당하는 자궁목을 확장시켜야 한다. 여기에는 급속히 확장을 시도하는 법과 서서히 확장을 시도하는 2가지 방법이 있다. 자궁목을 급속히 확장할 때는 헤가르 목관확장기(Hegar's dilatator)를 사용한다. 이것은 작은 금속막대로 작은 크기부터 큰 크기까지 다양한 크기가 있어서 우선 작은 막대로 시작하여 점점 큰 크기의 막대를 자궁목에 넣어서 자궁목을 확장시킨다. 서서히 확장시킬 때는 Laminaria tent를 목관에 삽입하는 방법을 사용한다. Laminaria tent란 해초로 만든 작은 막대로 수분을 흡수하면 점점 늘어나는 성질이 있다. 이것을 자궁의 목에 넣으면 이것이 수분을 흡수하여 늘어나므로 천천히 자궁의 목이 늘어난다. 자궁목이 충분히 늘어나면 그 속으로 끝이 숟가락처럼 생긴 기구를 넣어서 자궁속의 병변이나 임신된 태아를 긁어내는데 여기에 사용되는 숟가락처럼 생긴 기구를 큐렛이라고 한다. 초기 임신중절 즉 유산과 같은 임신과 관련된 경우뿐만 아니라, 비임신 자궁의 자궁내막조직의 채취 및 제거를 위해서도 행해지는 수기이다. 이는 원칙적으로 마취하에 실시되는 것으로 자궁목관을 확장하고 기구로 자궁 내용물을 제거하고 큐렛으로 자궁내벽을 깨끗이 한다. 자궁천공이나 자궁목의 파열 등의 위험이 따르며, 수술후 감염 또는 출혈 등에 대한 주의가 필요하다. |
