| 설명 | 약을 투여하는 방법에는 여러 가지가 있다. 크게 나누어 보면, 입을 거쳐 위창자계를 통해 넣는 방법과 위창자계를 통하지 않고 바로 혈액으로 넣는 방법이 있다. 위창자계를 통하지 않는 방법으로 가장 흔한 방법은 주사를 이용하는 방법이다. 하지만, 이외에 항문을 통해 넣는 좌약식방법과 혀밑에 넣는 혀밑투여법도 있다. 그러나 대부분의 약제는 경구복용을 하게 된다. 경구복용에 대한 약자는 p.o.(per oral)로 표기한다. 경구복용제의 단점은 복용한 약제가 위창자관계를 거치면서 사람마다 각기 다른 흡수정도와 대사정도를 거치게 되므로 일정한 농도유지가 어렵다는데 있다. 또한 경구복용제의 모양이 캡슐형인지, 혹은 가루형인지에 따라서도 같은 약이지만, 서로 다른 효과를 나타낼 수 있다. |

| 설명 | 체외의 인공회로를 따라 이루어지는 순환법. 혈관내에 삽입한 튜브를 통하여 혈액을 일단 체외로 내보내서, 펌프에 의하여 연속하여 재차 체내에 되돌리는 순환을 체외순환이라고 한다. 여러 가지의 목적을 위하여 사용되며, 여러 가지의 방식이 있다. 가장 널리 사용되고 기본으로 되어 있는 것은, 인공심폐에 의한 체외순환으로 상-하대정맥에 삽입한 삽관을 통하여 심장으로 되돌아가는 정맥혈을 체외에 있는 산소화장치로 이끌어서 산소를 가한 후, 펌프에 의하여 동맥내로 보내는 방식으로 심장으로의 환류혈의 전부를 산소화장치로 이끄는 경우를 완전체외순환, 일부분만을 이끄는 경우를 부분체외순환이라고 한다. 이외에 좌심두름길법, 우심두름길법, 신체의 일부분만의 체외순환, 보조순환등이 있다. |

| circulation, foetal | The blood circulation in the foetus (the unborn baby). Before birth, the blood from the heart that is destined (in the pulmonary artery) for the lungs is shunted away from the lungs and returned to the greatest of arteries (the aorta).
