1. a small mass of neuroglial cells in the center of the embryonic optic disk, surrounding the bulb of the hyaloid artery. 2. a congenital anomaly consisting of a glial veil attached to the anterior aspect of the optic disk, resulting from glial proliferation around the remnants of the posterior part of the hyaloid vessel system.
