| 설명 | 림프종은 림프절에 생긴 악성 종양으로 백혈병과는 다르다. 백혈병은 골수에서 생긴 림프구성 악성종양이지만, 림프종은 림프조직에서 생긴 림프구성 악성종양이다. 크게 림프종은 2가지로 나눌 수 있는 데, 호지킨병(Hodgkin's lymphoma)과 비호지킨림프종(non-Hodgkin's lymphoma)으로 나눌 수 있다. 또한 비호지킨림프종은 여러 가지의 세포형태에 따라 나누고 있다. 이 병은 단지 림프절뿐만 아니라 지라, 골수, 이외 다른 기관을 침범함으로써 악성이며, 생명에 큰 위협을 준다. 악성림프종의 일종. 전이의 형태가 다양하여, 주위 림프절을 건너뛰어 다른 림프절로 전이하기도 한다. 또한 세포의 형태에 따라 여러 가지 종류가 있으며 대개 치료는 방사선치료와 화학요법을 복합하여 사용한다. |

| 설명 | 스테로이드가 아닌 항염제의 대표적인 약물이다. 항염증, 진통, 해열의 3가지 기능을 가진다. 약물의 기능은 프로스타글란딘(prostaglandin)의 형성을 억제하는 것에 의해서 이루어진다. 염증이란 몸속에 들어온 이물질을 처리하는 과정으로 여기에는 여러 가지 세포가 관여한다. 프로스타글란딘는 염증의 과정에서 여러 세포를 모으는 기능을 하는 물질이다. 즉 프로스타글란딘의 형성을 막으면 염증에 관여하는 세포의 집합이 이루어지지 않아서 염증이 일어나지 않는다. 지혈의 과정에서도 프로스타글란딘이 관여한다. 초기에 혈관이 터져 피가 날 때에 이것을 막는 것은 혈소판이다. 즉 혈소판이 모여 혈관의 손상된 부위를 틀어막게 된다. 역시 이 과정에서도 프로스타글란딘이 혈소판을 그 부분에 모이게 하는 역할을 수행하므로 아스피린을 먹으면 지혈이 잘 되지 않는다. 부작용으로는 소화장애, 지혈의 장애, 아주 드물지만 소아에서 치명적인 라이증후군이 생길 수가 있으므로 소아에선 조심해서 사용을 해야 한다. 아세살리실산 참조. |

| 설명 | 약을 투여하는 방법에는 여러 가지가 있다. 크게 나누어 보면, 입을 거쳐 위창자계를 통해 넣는 방법과 위창자계를 통하지 않고 바로 혈액으로 넣는 방법이 있다. 위창자계를 통하지 않는 방법으로 가장 흔한 방법은 주사를 이용하는 방법이다. 하지만, 이외에 항문을 통해 넣는 좌약식방법과 혀밑에 넣는 혀밑투여법도 있다. 그러나 대부분의 약제는 경구복용을 하게 된다. 경구복용에 대한 약자는 p.o.(per oral)로 표기한다. 경구복용제의 단점은 복용한 약제가 위창자관계를 거치면서 사람마다 각기 다른 흡수정도와 대사정도를 거치게 되므로 일정한 농도유지가 어렵다는데 있다. 또한 경구복용제의 모양이 캡슐형인지, 혹은 가루형인지에 따라서도 같은 약이지만, 서로 다른 효과를 나타낼 수 있다. |
