Anterior pituitary secretes numerous hormones which regulate many body processes, including growth, reproduction and conversion of food into energy. Posterior pituitary controls, pigmentation, growth, adrenal function, thyroid function, gonad function, lactation, vasoconstriction, urine output and water conservation.
