| coronary tendon | One of four fibrous rings that surround atrioventricular and arterial orifices of the heart, providing attachment for the valve leaflets and maintaining patency of the orifice. | coronary thrombosis | A blood clot in the lumen of a coronary artery. This is the mechanism by which a myocardial infarction results. A thrombus forms when microscopic cracks (from the effects of atherosclerosis) occur in the coronary vessel wall.
