coordinate system In n-dimensional space, a set of n linearly independent vectors anchored to a point (called the origin). A group of coordinates specifies a point in space (or a vector from the origin) by indicating how far to travel along each vector to reach the point (or tip of the vector).

coordination Coordination can refer to coordination in human systems, in parallel and distributed systems, and in complex systems that include both people and computers. The definition put forth by Malone and Crowston (1994) is: "Coordination is managing dependencies between activities." This definition is consistent with the simple intuition that, if there is no interdependence, there is nothing to coordinate. (Concept)

coordinate GPS (Global Positioning System) rely on coordinates which are nothing more than a series of numbers that indicate on which map and in which grid the position displayed is located. Latitude and longitude and UTM eastings and northings are nothing more than coordinates on a grid.
