| leishman-donovan bodies | Small spheres found in the spleen and liver of patients with visceral leishmaniasis. The spheres are an alternate, non flagellated form of the parasitic protozoan Leishmania donovani which occurs once the parasite has invaded the cells of the reticuloendothelial system in the patients organs. | lewy bodies | Intracytoplasmic, eosinophilic, round to elongated inclusions found in vacuoles of injured or fragmented neurons. The presence of lewy bodies is the histological marker of the degenerative changes in parkinson disease but they may be seen in other neurological conditions.
