epididymis a delicate convoluted tubule with an inner diameter of 0.2 mm connecting the semeniferous tubules of the testis with the lower end of the vas deferens. If the epididymal tubule were straight it would be 14 ft. long, but it is folded on itself and extends only the length of the testicle.

epididymitis The epididymis is the outflow duct of the testicle and is a very windy long tube that carries sperm from the small ducts at the top of the testicle down along the outside of the testicle to the bottom of the testicle where the epididymis turns upwards to join the vas deferens which is the tube that carries the sperm to the inside of the body. This duct can become inflamed in various conditions and inflammation of the epididymis is called epididymitis.
