It is also hypo-allergenic for those wearers that have allergic reactions to many metals but the surface is much softer than steel and prone to scratching. Bulova titanium watches are specially coated to make the surface harder and less susceptible to scratching. Titanium is also the metal of choice for many diving watches as it is very resistant to salt water corrosion.
