| inflammatory bowel disease |
chronic inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease) is a condition in which the colon is inflamed over a long period of time and may have ulcers in its lining. This increases a person's risk of developing colon cancer, so starting colorectal cancer screening earlier and doing these tests more often is recommended.
