  • Hypophosphatasia - »õâ A genetic metabolic disorder resulting from serum and bone alkaline phosphatase deficiency leading to hypercalcemia, ethanolamine phosphatemia, and ethanolamine phosphaturia. Clinical manifestations include severe skeletal defects resembling vitamin D-resistant rickets, failure of the calvarium to calcify, dyspnea, cyanosis, vomiting, constipation, renal calcinosis, failure to thrive, disorders of movement, beading of the costochondral junction, and rachitic bone changes. (From Dorland, 27th ed)
    Synonyms : Hypophosphatasias
  • Hypophosphatemia - »õâ A condition of an abnormally low level of PHOSPHATES in the blood. Severe hypophosphatemia (below 1 mg/liter) can affect every organ in the body leading to HEMOLYSIS; LASSITUDE; SEIZURES; and COMA. Chronic hypophosphatemia can lead to MUSCLE WEAKNESS; and bone diseases, such as RICKETS and OSTEOMALACIA.
    Synonyms : Hypophosphatemias
  • Hypophosphatemia, Familial - »õâ An inherited condition of abnormally low serum levels of PHOSPHATES (below 1 mg/liter) which can occur in a number of genetic diseases with defective reabsorption of inorganic phosphorus by the PROXIMAL RENAL TUBULES. This leads to phosphaturia, HYPOPHOSPHATEMIA, and disturbances of cellular and organ functions such as those in X-LINKED HYPOPHOSPHATEMIC RICKETS; OSTEOMALACIA; and FANCONI SYNDROME.
Synonyms : Diabetes, Phosphate, Familial Hypophosphatemia, Hyperphosphaturia, Phosphate Diabetes, Phosphaturia, Familial Hypophosphatemias, Hypophosphatemias, Familial
  • Hypophosphatemic Rickets, X-Linked Dominant - »õâ An X-linked disorder characterized by HYPOPHOSPHATEMIA; RICKETS; OSTEOMALACIA; renal defects in phosphate reabsorption and vitamin D metabolism; and growth retardation. This disorder is caused by mutations in PHEX PHOSPHATE REGULATING NEUTRAL ENDOPEPTIDASE.
Synonyms : Hypophosphatemia, X-Linked, Vitamin D-Resistant Rickets, X-Linked, X-Linked Hypophosphatemia, Hypophosphatemia, X Linked, Hypophosphatemic Ricket, Hypophosphatemic Rickets, Hypophosphatemic Rickets, X Linked Dominant, Hypophosphatemic Rickets, X-Linked
  • Hypophysectomy - »õâ Surgical removal or destruction of the hypophysis, or pituitary gland. (Dorland, 28th ed)
    Synonyms : Hypophysectomies
