Transformation is a form of conversion in which a file is converted into a file format with a comparable structure (eg from XML to XML, or from SGML to HTML). Usually, this form of conversion can be carried out very well. However, it can lead to the usual problems, since in many cases such a conversion is used to increase the quality of the files, based on the principle that 'we are at it anyway'.
