sulfite reductases <enzyme> Hydrogen sulfide:(acceptor) oxidoreductases. Enzymes which reversibly catalyze the oxidation of hydrogen sulfide in the presence of various acceptors to sulfite and a reduced acceptor. Utilises NADP+ as the acceptor. Utilises oxidised ferredoxin as acceptor and EC 1.8.99.1 will utilise a variety of acceptors.
Registry number: EC 1.8.-
