This highly contagious bacterial disease affects the kidneys and liver. It is contracted from coming in contact with urine of infect animals including cattle, sheep, wild animals, rats, and other dogs. Symptoms of Leptospirosis include fever, loss of appetite, bloody feces, listlessness, vomiting, and increased thirst. Vaccinations can have serious side effects and immunity is only 4-6 months. Consult your veterinarian for treatment and prevention.
