| Kaposi sarcoma | <oncology, tumour> A sarcoma of spindle cells mixed with angiomatous tissue. A relatively rare malignant skin tumour that results in multifocal purplish coloured papules or plaques that eventually form nodules. Usually classed as an angioblastic tumour. Seen most commonly in patients who suffer from AIDS. Tumours may also occur within the intestines and lungs. Diagnosis may be confirmed with skin biopsy or upper GI endoscopy.
