| end-plate a. |

There are two types: monophasic (or end-plate noise) consists of dense, steady, entirely negative potentials with low amplitude and high frequency, similar to the miniature end-plate potentials of experimental animals; biphasic (or end-plate spikes) consists of irregular, alternately negative and positive spike potentials that come in short bursts with high frequencies.
