a syndrome more serious than boxer's traumatic encephalopathy, the result of cumulative cerebral injuries in boxers; characterized by forgetfulness, slowness in thinking, dysarthric speech, and slow, uncertain movements, especially of the lower limbs. Called also d. pugilistica, punch-drunk encephalopathy, and punchdrunk.
