Refers to an ingredient added to soap, usually at trace, which has no effect on the saponification process but has purposeful reasons for being included. Oils such as Jojoba, Hemp, and Shea Butter are commonly used in soap making as superfatting agents to lend additional moisturizing qualities, and pumice powder is a common exfoliating additive.
