Rastelli's operation An operation for transposition of the great arteries plus ventricular septal defect and LV outflow obstruction; employs an intraventricular tunnel repair and a rerouting valved extracardiac conduit.
For "anatomic" repair of transposition of the great arteries (ventriculoarterial discordance) with ventricular septal defect and left ventricular outflow tract obstruction; conduits are used to create left ventricular to aortic continuity and right ventricular to pulmonary artery continuity. All septal defects are obliterated as are any previously constructed palliative shunts.
