a pathologic type of myoblast that is typically rounded at one part and narrowed at another so that it is spindle-shaped or racket-shaped; it has an eccentric nucleus, eosinophilic cytoplasm, and sometimes cross striations resembling those of striated muscle. It is the prototypic cell of rhabdomyosarcoma.
