A series of different cell surface recognition proteins comprised of two different subunits (referred to as a "heterodimer"). One subunit is derived from a series of subunits, and the second from a series of ?subunits, each of which is identified by a numerical identifier, or in one case (v) an alphabetical identifier. The combination of and ?subunits determines which matrix components will be recognised by the cell. 6? recognises laminin.
