The word collide literally means - strike together, which means that for a collision to occur, there must be two moving objects and they must be going towards each other. For example, there is no such thing as a collision barrier - the barrier is stationary. Nor is there such a thing as a single vehicle collision, and to report a two vehicle collision is simply redundant. A collision is only one of three types of motor vehicle accident.
