benzoylarginine nitroanilide <chemical> (+-)-n-(4-((aminoiminomethyl)amino)-1-(((4-nitrophenyl)amino)carbonyl)butyl)benzamide. A chromogenic substrate that permits direct measurement of peptide hydrolase activity, e.g., papain and trypsin, by colourimetry. The substrate liberates p-nitroaniline as a chromogenic product.
Pharmacological action: chromogenic compounds.
